The Prime Minister’s Newspoll results are a clear reflection of Anthony Albanese’s poor performance on a range of issues and is starting to cement the impression he is an “incompetent leader”, according to Sky News host Sharri Markson.
Labor’s primary vote now sits at 31 per cent – falling four points in the past three weeks.
Ms Markson pointed to recent “scandals” that have cost the Prime Minister support – including the recent High Court immigration decision, the worsening cost of living crisis and Mr Albanese’s “clear lack of leadership” on stopping anti-Semitism.
“His failure of leadership has allowed anti-Semitism to explode onto our streets and online,” she said.
The Sky News host also hit out at the Prime Minister’s “lack of courage” in failing to directly raise the sonar incident with Australia’s Navy divers with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Albanese couldn't say that he raised the issue of the attack on our Navy divers with Xi Jinping because clearly, he didn't raise it.
“This all changes the perception of Albanese in the public mind; he's seen as too weak to stand up to the Chinese President on behalf of our courageous divers.”
