Ukrainian troops stormed Russian trenches near Robotyne, in the south. Soldiers of the 47th Brigade are thought to have led the assault. Intense first-person video shows them riding into battle inside armoured vehicles. They then jump out and charge towards the Russian trenches, opening fire. The turret gunners cover their attack, keeping the Russians pinned down. Once the soldiers are inside the trenches, they use rifles and grenades to drive the Russian defenders back, and capture their positions. Ukraine has broken Russia’s first line of defences in the south. And is now working through the second, which guards the road to Crimea. If they can get through, the goal will be to re-take the peninsula from Putin.
