The US has refused to disclose military bases or the Middle Eastern nations where it has been deploying troops since the October 7 attack on Israel. This is not for security reasons, but to spare the host nations embarrassment, according to experts. One such base, the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, welcomed several new F-15 attack jets last month. This is the same aircraft used to bomb facilities used by Iranian-backed militias in Syria at least twice since October. Officials have withheld from the public knowledge of where US troops are in harm’s way as the US spirals toward a potential regional war with Iran. Nearly 60 attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria since October 17 have resulted in as many injuries, including traumatic brain injuries.
