Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iran carried out attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan’s capital of Erbil on January 15. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted what it claimed were bases of anti-Iranian terrorist groups using its ballistic missiles. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards say they have attacked “Mossad espionage headquarters” in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. Additionally, one rocket reportedly fell on the house of a senior Kurdish intelligence official and another on a Kurdish intelligence centre. An official with an Iranian-backed Iraqi militia said 10 missiles fell in the area near the US consulate, reports AP. Iran's IRGC also said it mounted a missile strike inside Syrian territory, after deadly attacks in the cities of Kerman and Rask. Watch the video to find out why Iran struck targets in Iraq and Syria.
