STORYLINE:
Explosions erupted in the Gaza Strip on Saturday as the latest Israel-Hamas war continued.

Israel has been carrying out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and is engaged in urban fighting in the north of the enclave.

It launched the operation against the militant group after a deadly Oct. 7 surprise incursion.

Israeli officials have confirmed 41 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the ground offensive began.

Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has pushed back against calls from Western allies to do more to protect Palestinian civilians.
