On July 25th, 2023 police responded to Gate 5 at the Pensacola Airport for an unruly passenger. The passenger borrowed an unknown man’s cell phone and went to the back of the plane with it. The man wanted his phone back so the passenger began asking for other people’s cell phones. The passenger was then asked to leave the plane but she refused to. The passenger was later identified as Dorissa Owens.
Owens was arrested and charged with trespassing. She remained in the Escambia County Jail without bond awaiting extradition on outstanding warrants from Texas. Owens is wanted for failure to appear in a 2022 case in which she was indicted on two counts of harassment of a public servant, and two counts of assault on a peace officer. All charges being felonies.
