Sky News Reporter Julia Bradley says champagne was flowing in Denmark on Sunday night as Danes and Australians celebrated Queen Mary’s ascent to the throne.
Australian-born Mary Donaldson has officially become the Queen of Denmark with her husband King Frederik.
The royal couple met at Sydney’s Slip Inn during the 2000 Olympics before marrying in 2004.
Ms Bradley told Sky News host Peta Credlin an Australian-only event was held by the embassy in Copenhagen to celebrate the new monarchs.
“Champagne was flowing and so too was the Aussie banter,” she said.
