Sky News host Caroline Di Russo says Danes are “very proud” of their royal family with strong popularity nationwide.
It follows the formal abdication of Queen Margrethe II.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen proclaimed Frederik the new King of Denmark on Monday morning.
“These people have grown up with the royal family, they know they have always been there,” Ms Di Russo said.
“It’s when something like this happens … that’s where the gratitude kind of pops up, that pride for your nation.”
