In a setback for Mahua Moitra, Supreme Court rejected her urgent hearing plea.
The court stated that Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud would decide on the listing of Mahua's plea. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader had approached the top court to challenge her expulsion from the Lok Sabha. During the proceedings, Moitra's plea was brought up for urgent listing before a bench comprising Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sudhanshu Dhulia. Justice Kaul informed senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi that the decision on listing would be made by the CJI.
