"Defense expos in general are attended by the majority of the arms manufacturing companies. Every company exhibits its new products and markets it to countries. Ideas are exchanged between companies and countries, and the modern technology that these companies have reached gets conveyed."

STORYLINE:
The third Egypt Defense Expo kicked off on Monday in Cairo, drawing the world's top arms companies and hundreds of military personnel from around the world.
Known as EDEX, the fair features more than 400 exhibitors from 44 countries.
"The region is always very important to us and it continues to stay important to us," said Vince Logsdon of Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi attended the opening of the international weapons fair.
Companies taking part in the event showed their latest technologies in the fields of defense and armaments.
"Every company exhibits its new products and markets it to countries. Ideas are exchanged between companies and countries," said Mohamed Shehata, an engineer at the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production.
Guided missiles, drones and armored vehicles were up on display at the various pavilions in the fair, which runs from Dec. 4 to 7.
At the Egyptian pavilion, rocket launcher Raad 200 was among the items on display.
