Israel’s Nahal Brigades battled Hamas in the north of the Gaza Strip after spies picked up their presence in the Jabalia area. The 931st Battalion led the attack, followed by the 551st division. Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters used RPGs to ambush the Israelis and hidden mortar positions to fire back against their Merkava tanks.
