Lala Musa Dal Written Recipe With Directions:
Ingredients:
- Split Bengal Gram (Channa Dal) 1 cup (Soaked in water for 2 hrs)
-White lentil gram (Mash Dal) ½ cup (Soaked in water for 2 hrs)
-Orange lentils (Masoor Dal) 1/2 cup (Soaked in water for 2 hrs)
-Water (pani) 4 cups
-Salt (namak) ½ tsp or to taste
-Turmeric Powder (haldi) ½ tsp
-Cooking oil as required
-Black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch) 1 tbs
-White cumin seeds (Safaid zeera) 1 tbs
-Onions (piyaz) chopped 2 medium sizes
-Garlic (lehsan) chopped 4-5 cloves
-Green Chillies
-Ground mixed spices (garam masala) ½ tsp
-Clarified butter (desi ghee) ½ cup
Directions:
-In a pressure cooker, add split Bengal gram, white lentil gram, orange lentils, and water. Turn on the flame.
-Add salt and turmeric powder and wait until it starts boiling.
-Now, remove the extra layer from the top and add 1 tsp cooking oil. Cover and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
-In a pan, add black peppercorns and white cumin seeds and roast them.
-Bring them out in a bowl and add cooking oil, then grind it in the blender.
-In a wok, add 4 tbs cooking oil and heat it.
-Add onions and cook until light brown in color.
-Add garlic and cook it for 1 min.
-Now, add the boiled lentils and mash them with a wooden hand beater.
-Add the roasted and ground mixture, mix well, and cook it on low flame for 3-4 minutes.
-Add more salt if needed.
-Add green chillies and ground mixed spices.
-In another pan, add clarified butter and heat it.
-Now, add the heated clarified butter to the dal. Mix well and cook it for 1 min on medium-low flame.
-Dish out garnish with fresh coriander and green chillies. Serve and enjoy it with roti or nan.
