The UEFA European Championship was introduced in 1960. Germany and Spain are the most successful teams in the UEFA Euro. Germany won the title in 1972, 1980 and 1996 in six final appearances while Spain won in 1964, 2008 and 2012 after competing in four finals.
Ten different nations have won the UEFA European Championship so far with France and Italy the two other nations to win it more than once.
