The cyclonic storm 'Michaung' which formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm before making a landfall in Andhra Pradesh's Baptla beach on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The weather system has caused heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and rescue work is underway as the authorities are moving people from low-lying areas.
