Hamas and Qatar confirmed that a Gaza truce and hostage release will start on 7:00 am (0500 GMT) on Friday morning. Hamas’s military wing said 50 Israeli hostages will be released in the next four days. The first batch of civilian hostages will be handed over around 4:00 pm on the same day, Qatari spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said. Red Cross staff were shot at while trying to deliver humanitarian support in northern Gaza, a spokesperson for the aid group told Al Jazeera. Evidence showed that Shifa, under Abu Salmiya’s “direct management, served as a Hamas command and control centre", the IDF said. Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir has ordered prison authorities to quash attempts to celebrate the expected release of Palestinian prisoners.
