Snow has hit London for the first time this winter, as temperatures are set to fall to as low as -10C in some areas of the UK.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in place today for the eastern coast of the the UK, stretching from Scotland to East Anglia. Ice warnings also remain in place for Northern Ireland and south-west England.
Hilly areas including the North York Moors and parts of Scotland could see up to 5cm of snow today. It comes after snow swept across the South West, parts of Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland on Thursday.
