The Australian's National Editor Dennis Shanahan says recent Newspoll results have “shaken the Labor Party” as they sit 50-50 with the Coalition.
Labor’s primary vote now sits at 31 per cent – falling four points in the past three weeks.
“This is a terrible time for the government to go into the summer break on its lowest primary vote in a decade,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“50-50 on two-party preferred, well, that’s a calculation, it's based on all sorts of things.
“Anthony Albanese just scraped in at the last election with a one-seat majority on a primary vote bigger than this.”
Mr Shanahan sat down with Ms Credlin to discuss the Albanese Labor government’s recent Newspoll results.
