The Supreme Court on Monday resumed hearing the Tamil Nadu government's plea against Governor RN Ravi's delay in clearing bills. The slug-fest between Tamil Nadu government and Governor R N Ravi has gone on for more than two years. There have been several ideological clashes but the refusal of granting assent to numerous bills has become a serious point of conflict between the two parties. In Tamil Nadu, the house met for a special sitting and re-adopted all the pending 10 bills. The matter went to court and the SC came down heavily on Ravi questioning the long delays. Does a governor have the right to delay bills inordinately?
