The Lok Sabha Secretariat changed the rules for accessing the Parliament website following the row involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, sources told India Today on Thursday. As per the sources, personal staff or any third party cannot access the Digital Sansad website and give notices or submit questions on an MP's behalf. Only the parliamentarians themselves will be able to use the site by using their individual login details.
An OTP (one-time password) will arrive on the registered mobile phones of the MPs and they will only be able to access the site after entering the code.
The change in rules came after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, citing Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai's letter, alleged that Mahua Moitra took bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament.
