The Islamabad High Court will commence hearing PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif's appeals against his convictions in the Avenfield Apartments and Al-Azizia references starting from November 27. The division bench, headed by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, made this decision. Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years in jail in the Avenfield case in July 2018 and seven years in the Al-Azizia reference in December 2018.
After his release from jail in March 2019, he went to London for medical reasons and returned to Pakistan last month. His appeals were restored last month, and the court, responding to his lawyer's request, agreed to hear the arguments daily, starting on Monday. The hearing was adjourned to November 27.
