Mr Bercow bit his lip and appeared visibly emotional as Labour MPs cheered and applauded the result of the vote on plans to hold a secret ballot on who would be the Speaker after the election. Commons Leader William Hague used his last day as an MP to launch the ambush on the Speaker. But David Cameron's team was left humiliated when MPs voted 228 votes to 202 against the Government motion.
