Over 200 ‘Ndrangheta Mafia members have been sentenced to a total of 2,200 years in prison.
The trial, held on Monday, is one of the biggest trials in Italian history and took place in a specialised secure courthouse.
30-year sentences were handed to mob bosses Saverio Razionale and Domenico Bonavota.
It took judges just 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach a verdict which concluded the three-year trial.
‘Ndrangheta is the only mafia group active in every continent apart from Antarctica and is said to control 80 per cent of the cocaine trade across Europe.
