Azan is given twice for Friday prayers. But, during the time of the Prophet (PBUH), the call to prayer was given once. However, the Sahabi introduced the method of calling the Azan twice, so it is Sunnah. Again, since the time of the Prophet (PBUH) was only once, some scholars say that the call to prayer should be given once.
