Bab a-Zawiya (Shoter) Checkpoint, Hebron city center: Israeli settler threatens Palestinian children with club in front of soldiers
On Tuesday, 27 December 2022, at around noon, Palestinian activists ‘Imad Abu Shamsiyeh and Zidan Sharbati received an urgent call to go to the Bab a-Zawiya (Shoter) checkpoint in downtown Hebron, as a settler was threatening to attack children with a club. Upon arrival, they saw the settler threatening children between the ages of six to eight with a club and trying to hit them through the bars of a turnstile, while soldiers gently tried to get him to leave. Abu Shamsiyeh tried to block the settler’s access to the children and Sharabati went over to the soldiers and asked them to remove him. Eventually, the children crossed the checkpoint, while the settler continued threatening them and the soldiers kept trying to get him to leave.
