The Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley said that everyone is voting for a bill that they have absolutely no idea how much it is going to cost.

“We haven’t been given that information. There was a view each person sent to Rwanda will cost £169,000.”

She compared that to the £42 given to every child raped in 2022 under the Government’s Sexual Abuse for Children’s Fund.

“What political capital walking around for a third bill for something that won’t work. 150 judges can be found under the sofa by the PM when cases of rape victims wait 7 years to get in front of a judge.”

She called the Rwanda bill a waste of taxpayer’s money and Government time and asked what happens to the victims of human trafficking.
