Iceland's President says his country is battling tremendous forces of nature after multiple homes were engulfed by molten lava from an erupting volcano.
The volcano in southwest Iceland erupted for the second time in over a month, causing lava to burst through a fissure in the ground north of the small town of Grindavik.
The volcanic activity has settled down since its initial eruption, however it remains unpredictable.
People within Grindavik are unsure of what will happen after the eruptions stop, as they will need to get hot water back to the town as the molten rock has severed the pipe connections.
The eruptions mark the second time in as many months it has erupted in the small fishing town.
