The Maine Superior Court on Wednesday delayed its decision to bar former president Donald Trump from the Republican primary ballot.
Maine’s court has said it’s waiting on the US Supreme Court’s verdict regarding Colorado banning Trump from its ballot.
Colorado’s decision to bar Trump was followed suit by Maine with both states citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment for the former president’s actions during the January 6 Capitol riots.
Earlier this month Trump appealed Maine Secretary of State Sheena Bellow’s decision.
Superior Court Justice Michaela Murphy ruled Trump’s appeal of his ban should return to Bellows after the Supreme Court accepted the Colorado case.
Justice Murphy ordered Bellows to delay her decision until the high court came to a verdict.
