Body camera footage shows officers looking over his license and mistaking his name for a wanted domestic violence suspect due to the similar spellings of their first names. Following a violent arrest and multiple unwarranted consequences, Hayes is now seeking a jury trial, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees in a lawsuit pointing to two counts of excessive force and one count of unlawful arrest.
