On January 16th, 2023, officers in Arizona responded to a 911 call early in the morning, where operators heard a heated argument in Spanish between a man and a woman. Officers promptly reached the residence, meeting a woman who seemed reluctant to cooperate or provide clear information regarding the incident. The woman said everything was fine, and she was preparing her children for school. Officers noticed a scratch on her face, raising suspicions of a possible domestic altercation.

The officers spoke to both parties separately about the 911 call and prior events. The female suspect alleged that an argument with the male over their daughter’s paperwork had escalated, resulting in a scratch on her face. The male individual spoke with another officer in Spanish and explained he was going to file taxes that morning when an argument over paperwork began before calling 911. The situation escalated when the female suspect reportedly grabbed a pot and attacked him before returning with a knife and damaging the male individual's vehicle significantly, including slashing a tire and scratching the windows, to prevent him from leaving with the paperwork in question. The male further stated he doesn't speak good English and is undocumented, and the female suspect is “always holding that over his head.”

Throughout speaking with officers, the female suspect was uncooperative and upset with officers arriving at the residence, repeatedly ignoring orders to remain outside. Officers eventually arrested the female suspect based on the evidence of criminal damage and disorderly conduct observed at the scene. The female suspect was charged with Criminal Damage and Disorderly Conduct.
