Back in August 1992, Jason Hayward caught the attention of the UK carp fishing scene by landing one of the country's best-known and exclusive carp, The Black Mirror. This fish was one of the largest ever landed in the country, consequently leading to Jason winning the prestigious Cobra Cup.
Following this remarkable result, he has gone on to catch numerous other highly prized carp from a variety of different waters, such as The Big Lin from The Caravan Park.
Jason has worked as a jewellery maker for much of his adult life, and it was through his occupation that brought him to sharpening hooks. His precision method for hook sharpening has led to the emergence of sharpening tools and commercially available sharpened hooks.
Jason has also had several of his terminal tackle ideas produced by some of the UK's biggest tackle companies, including Korda's Inline Safety Kit. Along with his tackle expertise, he also has extensive knowledge of bait and sells his own tailored range of bait.
Jason has a reputation for being one of the most astute and knowledgeable carp anglers around today. During this podcast, we take a journey through his angling life, where he shares some previously untold captures, while also revealing some of the secrets to his undoubted success.
