Donald Trump’s lawyers are trying to use "presidential immunity" to defend his attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Their take is that short of facing impeachment in the House and conviction in the U.S. Senate, a sitting president is given absolute immunity to commit whatever criminal act he or she wants. Rep.
