The Australian’s Media Writer Sophie Elsworth says the ABC has a “big problem” with people leaving the organisation because they are “constantly box ticking”.
Antionette Lattouf, a Lebanese-Australian who was dumped as a fill-in radio host over Christmas for her anti-Israel posts on social media, alleges she was sacked because of her ethnicity.
Nour Haydar, an ABC political reporter, resigned over its coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict as well as the treatment of culturally diverse staff.
“There’s a big problem: Ita Buttrose and management have a big problem on their hands,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News Australia host James Macpherson.
“They have a long list of people leaving that organisation and voicing their disgust on their way out.
“The ABC are constantly box ticking – that’s their requirements, they’ve got to meet all these different diversity requirements, and it’s backfiring on them.”
