SHOCKING IDF footage appears to reveal a Hamas terror cell inside a MRI suite at a hospital in Gaza - with the force claiming it found a massive weapons hoard.

Israeli troops entered Shifa Hospital, which is Gaza's largest, in a "targeted" operation searching for Hamas weapons.

A spokesman claimed that they found a room full of military kit as well as an a "operational command centre".

The claims have not been independently verified.

Soldiers reportedly went room to room interrogating patients and medics.

Commandos also reportedly entered the main emergency department, with tanks also seen in the area around the hospital.

Younger men in the hospital were allegedly told to leave the hospital buildings and strip down to their underwear, the BBC reports.

It comes after IDF troops brought baby incubators and medical supplies into al Shifa Hospital on Wednesday.

Thousands of patients, doctors and displaced Palestinians have been trapped inside the besieged complex for weeks.

Israel claims that Hamas runs a command centre under the hospital, where many civilians have gathered to avoid airstrikes.

On Tuesday night, Israeli special forces launched a "precise and targeted" raid inside al Shifa - which the IDF today called a "military necessity" to root out Hamas.

All the civilians inside are now feared to be caught in the crossfire as battles raged overnight.

The IDF said the operation continued this morning as they engaged in gun battles with Hamas militants and found weapons inside.

Over 30 premature babies are at risk of dying inside the hospital after the power supply to their incubators was cut off.

An IDF spokesman said: "IDF troops are continuing the precise and targeted operation against Hamas in the Shifa Hospital complex, in which the troops are conducting searches for Hamas terrorist infrastructure and assets.

"As the soldiers entered the hospital complex, they engaged with a number of terrorists and killed them.

"Following this, during searches in one of the departments of the hospital, the troops located a room with technological assets, along with military and combat equipment used by the Hamas terrorist organization.

"In another department in the hospital, the soldiers located an operational command center and technological assets belonging to Hamas, indicating that the terrorist organization uses the hospital for terrorist purposes.

"The technological assets and extensive intelligence information located was transferred for full review by the relevant authorities.

"The IDF is continuing to operate in the hospital complex, while extracting intelligence information and preventing harm to the medical teams and civilians sheltering there."

The claims have not been independently verified.

Gaza's health ministry denies the claims, adding that the raid on the hospital is a war crime.

Hamas said: "The Israeli occupation's claim that weapons are being stored at al-Shifa hospital is a blatant lie that should deceive nobody any longer.

"The Zionist occupation's claim that it found weapons and military equipment at al Shifa medical complex is nothing but a continuation of its lies and cheap propaganda trying to justify its genocidal crimes destroying the health sector in Gaza.

"We, the Palestinians, are aware of the degree of lies and deception the occupation has plotted to cover up its crimes against children, women, and defenseless civilians."

The UN's humanitarian chief said that "hospitals are not battlegrounds".
