Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has “taken a personal role” in the Houthi activities in the Red Sea, according to a UK Telegraph report citing defence sources. Khamenei has also reportedly ordered supplies of further weapons and equipment for the Yemen-based militant group. The UK Telegraph also reported that around 200 Houthi rebels received training in Iran from its Revolutionary Guard Corps at the Khamenei Academy of Naval Sciences and Technology in Ziba Kenar.
