December 25, 2016, almost three years ago, Russian Air Force plane Tu-154 crashed in Sochi, on the way to Syria, Khmenim air base. 92 people died, including 65 artists of the Alexandrov Ensemble and Doctor Liza Glinka. The investigation was extended several times, and gradually it went silent.
We have recently discovered that a few weeks ago, in Autumn 2019, the investigation was terminated due to the lack if evidence. However, it was not publicly announced because, as stated in the decision to dismiss, it "contains information representing state secrets."
This is the first time where we faced a situation in which the results of a crash are not available for public because it contains a top secret. We follow the laws and regulations in our investigation, but we think we have the right to try to figure out what happened there and commemorate the dead.
