The Israeli military has released video of fighting in the Gaza Strip, showing troops operating in an area between Beit Hanoun and Jabalia.
Israeli strikes pounded Gaza City, as ground forces battled Hamas militants near the territory’s largest hospital.
Hamas health officials say thousands are trapped in the hospital with no electricity and dwindling supplies.
Israel has come under mounting pressure over the plight of civilians.
Palestinians have continued to flee south to avoid the fighting as the death toll surpassed 11,000, according to the Health Ministry in Hamas-run Gaza.
The ministry is the only official source for Gaza casualties. In previous wars, the ministry’s counts have held up to U.N. scrutiny, independent investigations and even Israel’s tallies.
Israel has vowed to end Hamas’ 16-year rule in Gaza and crush its military capabilities, resisting calls for a cease-fire.
