The Volusia County Sheriff's Department in Florida released bodycam footage showing the Atlantic High School resource deputy arresting a 16-year-old boy for bringing a loaded handgun to school on March 8, 2022. Police received a tip about a TikTok post showing the boy with a gun at school. Upon searching the boy, the deputy found a handgun tucked into his waistband. The suspect, who stole the firearm from a relative, is being charged with possession of a firearm on school property, grand theft of a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. The relative is also pressing charges for theft.
