1:00 Wilford Woodruff Speaking
This is Wilford Woodruff (March 1, 1807 – Sept. 2, 1898) speaking on March 19, 1897. He met Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, in Kirtland, Ohio, before joining Zion's Camp in April 1834. He was an eyewitness to key events in Nauvoo between 1842 and 1844, including the last meeting the Prophet Joseph Smith held with members of the Twelve Apostles in the spring of 1844 before the Apostles left for the East. Woodruff also served as the fourth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1889 until his death.
