UN, 새해 첫 대북 메시지 "北, 긴장 조성 멈추고 대화 복귀해야"
The United Nations has urged North Korea to return to denuclearization talks.and avoid any actions that would counter such efforts.
That's from its first message for the regime in 2023.
UN's Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General Farhan Haq said in a briefing on Tuesday that it has repeatedly wanted the North to return to talks on the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
When asked if the UN has been in contact with the North, he said there aren't any recent high-level contacts to announce at this point, but added that it has been in touch with all parties on the Korean Peninsula whenever there are issues, such as missile tests.
