Severe storms have caused flooding in parts of Europe on Wednesday. In the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France, rescue crews are helping evacuate residents from inundated homes.
Anthony Richevin and his family were among the residents evacuated in the town of Arques. He said that their house was 50 centimeters deep in water, making it "unlivable" for the moment.
While in northern Germany, temporary dams were put up in the city of Oldenberg, where local farmer Jens Roever was instructed to evacuate to a nearby secondary school along with his family. However, he refused to leave his farm and his animals behind, including his horses.
Floods also engulfed areas of Northamptonshire in Britain's East Midlands, as Storm Henk caused disruption in parts of Britain and Wales. Severe weather warnings from the U.K.'s National Weather Service remained in place for Wednesday.
