Harvard president Claudine Gay announced she is resigning six months into her turbulent tenure at the university. Gay says her decision comes after discussions with Harvard’s top governing body about scrutiny from critics who say she mishandled antisemitism on Harvard’s campus as well as plagiarism allegations in her academic work, which she has denied. She will stay on as a faculty member. NBC’s Erin McLaughlin reports for TODAY.
