The South African Local Government Association, SALGA, is warning that KwaZulu-Natal might be at a tipping point to descend into political violence. SALGA chairperson, Thami Ntuli, says the province is grappling with a surge in political killings. Ntuli says 18 of the 40 ward councillors who died over the past year, were assassinated.
He says the assassination of politicians is robbing the most vulnerable people of dedicated leaders who want to drive change.
