"The martyrs who fall, do so on the road to Jerusalem. The massacres committed and the brutality carried out by the Israeli enemy in Gaza warrant all sacrifices. Therefore, what the resistance in Lebanon is undertaking, in support of the Palestinian cause and in solidarity with the mujahideen in Gaza, will persist as long as the aggression continues. We will not hesitate to dedicate more efforts and resources to this cause. Even if the entire world turns its back on Palestine and Gaza, Hezbollah will remain steadfast in its support of Palestine."

STORYLINE:
Hundreds of people attended the funeral on Wednesday of a Hezbollah fighter who was killed during clashes with Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.
The funeral of Mohammad Hassan Jaafar Makki was held at a cemetery in a suburb south of Beirut where Hezbollah members are usually buried.
Lebanon’s militant Hezbollah group has been exchanging fire with Israeli troops along the tense frontier, which has seen violent exchanges since Oct. 8 — a day after the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7, triggering the current war Israel-Hamas.
Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Shiite militant group, are bitter enemies that last fought a war in the summer of 2006.
