STORYLINE:
Hundreds of protesters marched in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza through southeast England's coastal city of Brighton on Sunday.
The Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign posted on its website that the march was a culmination of 20 local groups all calling for a cease-fire.
The march moved through the streets of central Brighton, with crowds waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans.
As the Israel-Hamas war enters its 11th week, condemnation worldwide grows with the devastating impact of the conflict on Gaza’s civilian population.
The war has flattened large parts of northern Gaza, killed thousands of civilians and driven most of the population to the southern part of the besieged territory, where many are in crowded shelters and tent camps.
Some 1.9 million Palestinians — nearly 85% of Gaza’s population — have fled their homes.
