“The rink area is about 5,500 square metres, and a powerful system (referring to the cooling system of the artificial ice rink) gives us the opportunity to work even at above-zero temperatures. Therefore, our skating rink is traditionally the first to open in St. Petersburg. And traditionally it can close much later than others. The capacity of the system allows this to be done.”

A fairytale ice rink in a snow-covered pine forest is delighting visitors at a winter resort north of St Petersburg.
Icy paths take skaters meandering through the trees and amongst thousands of colourful lights.
STORYLINE:
Deep in the pine forests of the all-season Okhta Park resort, a little bit of magic awaits.
Skaters wind their way though a winter wonderland as icy paths snake through the trees.
There's nothing quite like the experience of skating outdoors.
The park's general director, Gennady Musiyenko, says the ice rink evokes feelings of youth:
“There is a feeling of magic, some pleasant childhood feeling. When I watch guests leaving the resort and sharing their impressions, (they say) it feels like the adults are back in their childhood. These are the wonderful emotions that are needed,” he says.
Musiyenko says the ice rink covers an area of some 5,500 square metres and uses a powerful cooling system:
