The plane, which contained 1.2 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies and 9 medical personnel, took off at 10.35 this morning. The A400M aircraft of the Ministry of National Defence carrying 75 patients and 74 accompanying persons from Gaza landed in Ankara at 16.00.
Another 26 patients and 32 accompanying companions who were transferred from Gaza to Egypt were brought to Turkey for treatment by a plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defence (MND).
The C-130 type aircraft of the Ministry of National Defence took off from Egypt's El Arish Airport and landed at Etimesgut Military Airport at 18.55 with 26 patients, 32 companions and medical personnel. Deputy Minister of Health Tolga Tolunay welcomed the wounded and their companions on board the aircraft.
The patients on board are being transferred to Bilkent and Etlik City Hospitals and Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital by ambulances waiting at the airport.
