In a big relief for the 8 Ex-Indian Navy Officers in detention in Qatar, an appeals court has commuted their death sentence to jail term. The commutation of the sentence was announced in presence of the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, while the family members of the Officers were also present. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement informed, that the detailed judgement was awaited and that it will continue to take up the matter further with the Qatari authorities.
