From July 1, 2024, a property agent's commission in a co-brokered deal will be clearly defined before any transaction takes place. Sixteen property agencies -- representing some 88% of local agents -- have agreed that such a move will reduce any potential monetary dispute. While the Singapore Estate Agents Association has not revealed the exact number of disputes, it said the new guidelines are aimed at taking care of an agent's well-being. The industry is also expanding the knowledge base of its agents to help reduce scams in the housing sector.
