In this sermon video, Pastor Phil explores Joel 2:18-32 and God's power and restoration. Throughout the first half of the book of Joel, things look bleak. Locusts have invaded and destroyed everything and from that place of devastation, Joel predicted a future and greater devastation of an invading army. He calls Israel to repent and cry out to God. As we move into the second half of Joel we see God step in and things begin to change.
What happens when God Steps In
1. God removes Disgrace and Fear (Vs. 18-24)
2. God restores what is lost and destroyed (25-27)
3. God brings His Word and salvation (Vs. 28-32)
Any situation can be transformed when God steps in.
God is passionate about the loyalty and devotion of those in a relationship with Him.
God doesn’t just help us survive, but he satisfies.
Shame and fear are always contrary to the promises of God.
As God rescues by his grace alone, we must turn and worship him alone.
Today we have God’s complete truth for us in the Bible, but the Spirit is just as active in helping us know and apply it to our ever-changing lives.
A movement of God is accompanied by the Spirit of God.
Response: Pray for God’s movement in your life and our church.
