The Israeli military said in an update on Friday (December 15) its forces had destroyed a Hamas command and control hub in Gaza City's heavily contested Sheijaia district and conducted a "targeted raid" on terrorist infrastructure in Khan Younis.
Video released by the Israeli army on Friday was said to show its soldiers operating in Gaza and striking Hamas targets from above and on the ground. Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the videos were filmed.
Israel launched its onslaught in retaliation for a surprise cross-border terror attack by Hamas, the Iran-backed group that rules Gaza, whose fighters stormed nearby Israeli communities, killed 1,200 people and seized 240 hostages on Oct. 7.
